EAST ST. LOUIS, ILLINOIS (BNO NEWS) – A Belleville, Illinois man was sentenced to 96 months -8 years- in prison in child pornography case, prosecutors announced on Thursday.

David Monfre, 31, was also sentenced on Wednesday to a life time of supervised release and to pay a $1,500 fine. He pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography and one count of transporting child pornography on May 7.

In December 2008, law enforcement agents arrived at Monfre's residence in Belleville after his house mate told officers that he had caught the defendant looking at child pornography.

He was previously targeted after contacting in the Internet a South Carolina man who was the subject of a national investigation of child pornography.

Monfre admitted to the agents his actions and told them he knew he had a problem and was seeking counseling.

The defendant bragged in online chats about having sodomized a boy and also wrote he was looking for a father who was willing to share his male child for sexual purposes.
