Two Chicago, IL men charged for shooting two police officers
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (BNO NEWS) – Two Chicago, Illinois men were charged for shooting and wounding two Chicago police officers, officials said.
Demario Thomas, 21, and Antonio Jones, 20, were charged with attempted murder of a police officer during a search in Chicago’s south side on Wednesday.
Two Chicago police officers were about to serve a search warrant for weapons at the residence of Jones on early Wednesday. Before they could perform their duty, the law enforcement agents were shot by the alleged gang members.
A 41-year-old policeman and seven-year veteran was shot in the arm. His partner, a 38-year-old officer and six-year veteran was injured in the arm and leg.
Both police officers are expected to fully recover. On the other hand, Jones and Thomas are expected to be in court on Friday.
