At least 1 dead, 12 injured in B.C. avalanche

REVELSTOKE, B.C. (BNO NEWS) — At least one person was killed and more than a dozen were injured when an avalanche occurred on Boulder Mountain near Revelstoke, B.C. during a snowmobile competition, authorities said.
“Revelstoke RCMP have confirmed as of 6:45 pm that one person is deceased, with 12 injured also confirmed,” said Dan Moskaluk, a spokesman for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
About 200 people were in the area when the avalanche happened.
