President Calderon to travel to Juarez after U.S. killings

CIUDAD JUAREZ (BNO NEWS) — Mexican president Felipe Calderon will travel to Ciudad Juarez on Tuesday, just two days after the killings of three people linked to the U.S. Consultate in the city, the Mexican presidency said on Monday.

President Calderon will arrive amid high international tension prompted by the murder of a U.S. Consulate office, her husband, and a Mexican husband of another employee on Saturday.

Calderon’s visit was scheduled days ago and in response to a security strategy involving local sectors after the killing of 15 people in January, including 10 youths, who were massacred at a high school party.
