Strong 6.3-magnitude earthquake strikes Indonesia’s Molucca Sea
JAKARTA (BNO NEWS) — A strong earthquake struck the Molucca Sea in Indonesia on Monday evening, seismologists said.
The 6.3-magnitude earthquake at 7.05 p.m. local time was centered about 135 miles south of Manado on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, according to the country’s national seismological agency. It struck about 6.2 miles deep, making it a shallow earthquake.
No tsunami watches or warning were issued following the earthquake.
