U.S. Navy plane crashes in Fannin County, Georgia; one dead

BLUE RIDGE, GEORGIA (BNO NEWS) — A U.S. Navy aircraft crashed in Fannin County, Georgia, federal officials said, killing one person on board.

The Navy T-39 Sabreliner aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances in Fannin County, according to Kathleen Bergen, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). There were no reports of injuries on the ground.


The plane caused a fire in the woods in the area where it crashed, WXIA-TV reported.

According to the FAA, the aircraft was based at Pensacola, Florida Naval Air Station.
