Aeromexico suspends flights to Arizona because of new immigration law
MEXICO CITY (BNO NEWS) — Aeromexico said on Tuesday that its suspending flights to Phoenix and Tucson in Arizona, due to a “significant” fall in demand generated largely by the adoption of the new immigration law.
Aeromexico CEO Andres Conesa said at a news conference that the anti-immigrant law passed in Arizona has affected the air traffic between Mexico and the state, so the airline decided to suspend or cancel flight frequencies because for the low demand.
Aeromexico suspended a non-stop flight between Mexico City and Phoenix, and only flights from Hermosillo, Sonora are arriving although with a smaller number of frequencies that it used to have.
A non-stop flight between Guadalajara and Phoenix was also suspended and flights to Tucson have been reduced, Conesa added.
