Australia: 24/7 gambling support initiative for RSL members
For the first time, a new pilot program for people seeking assistance with gambling issues will be available to the RSL’s 100,000 members and patrons in Victoria.
The program will be announced by RSL Victorian President, Major General David McLaughlin, and RSL Ambassador, Stan Alves, a former National serviceman and AFL legend, along with State government officials at RSL House, 4 Collins Street in Melbourne on Monday 17 May at 2.30 p.m.
The announcement is part of Responsible Gambling Awareness Week in Victoria, running from May 17 to 23.
The six-month program will be trialled throughout 16 RSL sub branches providing face to face and phone-in counselling by qualified counsellors 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.
