A mystery NSW Lotto player is $2 million better off after picking up a share in Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw.

The NSW North Coast town of Lennox Head will be buzzing today as locals flock to check their tickets to see if they are holding the $2 million winning ticket.

Lennox Head has only around 7,000 permanent residents, but as the town is a popular, year round tourist destination, the winner may not be from the area.

The unregistered winning ticket was sold from Lennox Head Newsagency and Liquor Store at Shop 1, 80-84 Ballina Street, Lennox Head.

“This is absolutely fantastic; we are so excited because this is the biggest prize we have ever sold! We’re really hoping that the winner is a regular customer, but we’re happy for them whoever they are,” a delighted Sandy Gordon from Lennox Head Newsagency and Liquor Store said this morning.

“Actually, if the ticket was sold yesterday it could very well be a tourist; we were completely run off our feet all day yesterday, there seemed to be loads of people in town,” Ms Gordon speculated.

“I really do hope that the winner comes forward today, without being a member of Players Club there is a risk that they may not check their ticket for weeks.

“Somebody out there has the golden ticket, just like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, all we have to do is find them.

“We’re all so excited, we will be on tenterhooks all day, every ticket we check could be the one, or the golden ticket,” laughed Ms Gordon.

NSW Lotteries is urging players in the area to check their tickets. “Unfortunately our latest millionaire is not a member of Players Club which means we have no way of contacting them. So if you purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket in the Lennox Head area, it could be well worth your while to check your numbers,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said.

There were ten winners in Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Valentine’s Day Superdraw. Along with the NSW win, six wins were sold by the Victorian-based lottery operator Tattersall’s, two winning entries were sold in Western Australia and one in Quee

The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $20 million Lotto draw were 35, 15, 18, 6, 13 and 4 with the supplementary numbers 16 and 8.
