U.S. House Majority Whip said new HealthCare.gov site will empower Americans
WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) – House Majority Whip James Clyburn on Thursday announced that the new HealthCare.gov site will empower Americans to take control of their health care by providing them with information and resources to learn about the Affordable Care Act and access health care coverage.
“The launch of HealthCare.gov is yet another major step toward improving health care for Americans,” House Majority Whip Clyburn said. “One of the key provisions of the Affordable Care Act, this site empowers consumers by providing them with the information and resources necessary to choose the best coverage for themselves, taking the power away from large health insurance corporations and putting it into the hands of the American people.”
He continued by saying that the site will be a useful tool for small business owners and individuals looking for the best insurance options and will also allow Americans to see what health insurance operations are available to them, and at what cost. The site will also provide useful information on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and other health care information to make sure that all Americans are aware of the changes that were made with the Affordable Care Act that went into effect in March of this year.
He criticized Republicans for fighting the legislature that reforms health care, saying, “Unfortunately Republicans continue to fight for the insurance industry and special interests are working to repeal the Affordable Care Act and the benefits that come with it.”
He concluded, saying that Democrats will not allow America to return to skyrocketing premiums, denied coverage, and lost care.
