Bus crash in South Ossetia kills 8, injures 16

TSKHINVALI, SOUTH OSSETIA (BNO NEWS) — Eight people were killed on Sunday when a bus fell off a cliff near the Roki Tunnel in South Ossetia, Russian media reported.

The accident happened on the Transcaucasian Highway near the Roki Tunnel, which connects North Ossetia with South Ossetia, according to the RIA Novosti news agency.


North Ossetia’s Emergency Situations Ministry told the news agency that the bus went off a cliff near the tunnel. “Rescuers arrived at the site from North Ossetia, and, according to preliminary data, they reported 16 wounded and eight killed,” Yulia Starchenko said.
