KABUL (BNO NEWS) — Two American service members were killed in two separate explosions in southern Afghanistan on Monday, according to BNO News sources and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

ISAF said two of its service members were killed following two separate improvised explosive device (IED) attacks in southern Afghanistan, but provided no other details.

A BNO News source confirmed both casualties were American service members.

Coalition casualties have been rising sharply this year, with more than 100 troops being killed in June alone. On Sunday, an American service member was also killed as a result of an IED attack in southern Afghanistan.

And on Saturday, two British service members and one American were killed as a result of three separate attacks in eastern and southern Afghanistan.

On Friday, one American and one British service member were killed as a result of an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the country’s Helmand province. Another British service member died as a result of a traffic accident.
