BAGHDAD (BNO NEWS) — Two U.S. soldiers were killed and five others were injured during combat operations in northern Iraq on Wednesday, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

The incident happened when soldiers from the United States Division – North were conducting a patrol in northern Iraq. The U.S. Military did not say what caused the casualties, but said it happened during ‘combat operations.’

“We have no further update at this time,” said Brian Wierzbicki, a spokesman for U.S. Forces in Iraq, in response to an inquiry from BNO News.

Five other American soldiers were injured and evacuated to a military medical facility where they are being treated.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

BAGHDAD (BNO NEWS) — A U.S. soldier was killed in Baghdad on Thursday, the U.S. military said.

The soldier, attached to the United States Division – Center, was killed during combat operations. The military did not provide further details on his death.

The U.S. Department of Defense will release the identity of the soldier after notification of next of kin.
