SUWANNEE COUNTY, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) — The Florida Department of Law enforcement on Sunday canceled an Amber Alert for an unknown boy who was placed in the trunk of a vehicle.

A 9 to 10-year-old white male, whose identity was not released, was last seen at a rest area on Interstate 10 eastbound near the Suwannee and Columbia County line when he was seen being placed in the trunk of a vehicle by an unknown white female. Authorities decided to issue an Amber Alert.

About one hour later, officials said the boy had been found. “He’s fine,” an official with the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office said. “It was just a misunderstanding.”

The boy is described as white, and was wearing a green shirt and blue jean shorts. The suspect is described as a white female, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 160 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair. She was wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt, and black ankle boots.

Authorities believe they may be traveling in a 2006 silver Hyundai Elantra with Florida tag number 063XLH.
